Q

How often should deep cleaning be done?

A

If you have gum disease, your dentist may have you come in for routine deep cleanings until all the plaque buildup has been removed from above and below your gum line on all teeth. For severe gum disease, deep cleaning is often performed on one quadrant of the mouth at a time. After one or more deep cleaning sessions, your dentist will work with you to ensure you develop a healthy oral hygiene routine that can effectively prevent future tooth decay and gum disease.
